‘World’s Worst Cat’ Up For Adoption, Free Of Charge
If you’re living in North Carolina and looking for a way to make your life even worse on a budget, then great news. The Mitchell County Animal Rescue is currently offering a once in a lifetime opportunity to own not just a terrible cat, but the terrible cat. And lucky you, they’re giving her away for free.
The shelter, which is located about an hour outside of Asheville, posted an advertisement this week for “the world’s worst cat.” The sweet kitty in question is a four-year-old feline named Perdita who was dropped at the rescue on Christmas Eve. “We are animal lovers here and very patient, but we’ve been concerned about her for awhile,” said shelter director Amber Lowrey. “…We thought she was in pain and took her to the vet and he said: ‘No, this cat is just a jerk‘.”
Perdita reportedly enjoys luring humans in by honeypotting them into thinking that she is full of love and kitten-like joie de vivre, then attacking like a movie monster. As a result, her shelter is now waiving all adoption fees while also being very up front about the hellion’s behavior.
A soul-binding claws
“LIKES: staring into your soul until you feel as if you may never be cheerful again; the song Cat Scratch Fever, the movie Pet Cemetery (Church is her hero), jump scares (her specialty), lurking in dark corners,” the group’s Facebook post reads. “DISLIKES: the color pink, kittens (yuk they are so chipper), dogs, children, the Dixie Chicks, Disney movies, Christmas…”
If you have any interest in owning a cat but worse, or even if you just want to hide Perdita in your least favorite family member’s house and then leave her there, you can contact the Mitchell County Animal Shelter at (828) 765-6952. Then again, if you’re lonely enough to want a cat that will try to kill you, maybe you should do some introspection before taking responsibility for another life.
