Countries That Have Reopened for American Tourists
Many Americans are eager to get back to traveling but many find that countries are closed to American tourists. For whatever reason, many areas aren’t allowing American travelers just yet and it’s probably to keep their country safe from the virus that’s hit the world.
Whether you agree or disagree with countries closing down to American tourists, we wanted to feature a few of the countries that have reopened to allow Americans to travel into their region.
Albania
As of July 1, 2020, Albania has reopened their borders to allow citizens of the United States to travel there. At the moment you can expect to have your temperature taken at the airport but no quarantine requirements are in place.
Armenia
Americans are allowed to travel to Armenia but will have to partake in a 14-day quarantine before being allowed to venture outside of their hotel room. There are some exceptions such as you could take a virus test to get out of quarantine a little earlier.
Aruba
Get ready to enjoy a warm vacation as we start to enter into the winter season when you opt to visit Aruba. Americans must fill out a health questionnaire and upload a negative COVID-19 PCR test before traveling to Aruba.
Bahamas
This is another popular vacation spot that citizens of the United States may travel to, the Bahamas. This region has gone back and forth with allowing Americans in, but they now require a negative COVID-19 PCR test and 14-day quarantine when you arrive.
Bosnia & Herzegovina
This country as open to other travelers earlier in the summer, but only recently lifted restrictions to start allowing Americans to travel here as of September 2020. You’ll need to bring a negative PCR test to provide you don’t have COVID-19 and this test must have been taken within the last 48 hours.
Brazil
The only requirements to travel to Brazil are that you carry an insurance policy that covers COVID-19 and a visa. United States citizens no longer need a visa to travel to Brazil for up to 90 days though, so be sure to confirm this before traveling.
Colombia
The only requirement for traveling to Columbia is that you need to have taken a PCR test that tested negative no more than 96 hours since you boarded to travel. Otherwise, you can head to Columbia and enjoy a little vacation anytime.
All of these places are open to allow Americans to visit. Be sure to research the details of travel during these times as there may be extra fees, requirements, and new regulations for international and domestic travelers.
